PN Daytona - Champion Pullover

Could there be a more iconic or important watch in the world? One of our absolute all time favourites is the Paul Newman Daytona. In 2017, the watch world quaked with the historic sale of this 1968 Rolex Daytona for $15.5M, a new world record for the highest price ever achieved for a watch at auction. What makes this piece great was the provenance and historical significance of the owner for which this reference owes it's namesake. Originally owned by the great Paul Newman, this gift from his wife, actress Joanne Woodward, bears the inscription on the case back "DRIVE CAREFULLY ME". Little did she know at the time, her disdain for her husbands racing would be the birth of the most famous engraved Rolex caseback.
